Overview

A University of Iowa BME student interested in pursuing an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Iowa may apply to the BSE/MS joint degree program. To be considered for admission, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Completion of at least 80 semester credits (typically at the end of the fifth semester of undergraduate study),
  2. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, and
  3. The student must identify an MS advisor in their intended area of study. The primary advisor must be a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Iowa. The student may also have a secondary advisor from outside the department.

Selection will be based on the student's records, the application, and available positions. Acceptance into the program will also depend on the availability of project funding.
